The Future of Therapy:
What You Don’t Know CAN Hurt
Chaundra Prehara, LMFT Desert-CAMFTDirector of Education and Events
A Zoom Presentation
Friday, February 18, 202212:00 to 1:00 PM
Some positive products of the pandemic have been: an increased demand for therapy services, expanded flexibility in how services can be delivered, and the reinforcement of a strong median wage for therapists. However, against the backdrop of these positive changes, two other energies have grown that will change and potentially destabilize the psychotherapy profession; the industrialization of psychotherapy as private-equity and public-traded companies continue to grow in our sector and the continued medicalization of our field (as seen in part in the way that our profession was included in the No Surprises Act). You may not be feeling the impact of these changes yet, and perhaps you will not due to the way that you organize your practice/career, but the changes will impact our profession and now is the time to inform yourself so that you have the maximum opportunities of choice and voice.
NOTE: This presentation is an invitation to empower oneself through knowledge, by understanding current trends in our industry. Desert CAMFT will not be offering judgment of these trends, but feel it is a duty to our membership to alert you to the trends.
At the conclusion of this presentation, participants will be able to:
