Tip: Be aware! Telephone Scam - Jury Duty: There have been a few members who have fallen victim to a very convincing phone call scam. They were called and told they had missed jury duty, and were therefore at risk of arrest if they didn't pay A LOT of money. This scam is very elaborate with many people involved. One member is certain they got her phone number from her Psychology Today profile. Please be careful and share with your members!!
Temporary Waiver of Professional Licensing Requirements Due to COVID-19
Governor Newsom and the Director of the Department of Consumer Affairs (DCA) temporarily loosen regulations (e.g., testing, licensing, etc.), so that therapists can continue working during the COVID-19 crisis.

We are always looking for volunteers to help with making the chapter successful. Volunteering is fun and you can get to know more about how the chapter works and make good friends.
Volunteering means helping with planning and hosting events, supporting the 3000 Club for pre-licensed members and supporting community and professional outreach in the Valley.
We'd love to hear from you.
If you are interested, contact Carol Teitelbaum at 760-346-4606.

Dear Desert-CAMFT Chapter Member:
Being a member of the Desert CAMFT Board is a rewarding way to serve your colleagues and community. By becoming involved in the goings-on of the chapter, you get to have your voice heard, have the opportunity to network, and to feel part of something bigger than yourself.
Only with participation from our members can we have a thriving chapter, so we are requesting that you step-up and join us in this endeavor. You do not need to be nominated by someone else. Feel free to nominate yourself or just let us know that you are interested in serving.
Let's keep the desert chapter alive and thriving!
We can also always use and appreciate the support of other board and committee members to help out with events or other miscellaneous tasks. Please contact us if you’re interested in helping out.
Be on the lookout for an email from Desert Camft with a ballot you can vote for incumbents or add your or someone else's name
Notice to Members
In the era of Covid-19, we recognize that some of our members are negatively impacted. In the spirit of caring for one another, we have established a fund for our members to partially cover the higher state CAMFT member dues.
If you would like to explore what relief we can provide, please contact our President, Carol Teitelbaum at 760-346-4606.
We are here for you in many other ways including consultation and professional camaraderie. You just have to reach out to us.
The Desert Chapter Board
Supporting Desert CAMFT
We need your help to make our chapter thrive. We have great workshops coming up at our monthly meetings, as well as special longer workshops. We have a talented Board of Directors and we are doing everything possible to provide interesting, educational workshops with opportunities to network.
However, we need your help to keep this chapter thriving. We need more subcommittees, committee directors and teams, some new officers and support. Help us to help you have the most rewarding experience as a member of Desert CAMFT.
Please contact Carol Teitelbaum with any questions at 760-346-4606.

We are dedicated to the advancement of marriage, family, child and individual therapy as an art, a science, and a mental health profession.

Desert CAMFT is excited to announce this wonderful benefit for our Clinical Members.
We often practice in isolation and need the opportunity to consult with others and gain support. These groups offer an ongoing forum for case consultation with a variety of other experienced therapists in your area. We envision each group with a limit of eight therapists, with the "host" at each site setting the schedules.
If you would like to host a group in the desert, please contact

Membership for Retirees
Retirees can join the Desert CAMFT Chapter too and we may have scholarships available. Feel free to contact us!
We organize multiple events throughout the year, including CE workshops, by both local members and outside presenters, as well as social networking events. These are important occasions for our professionals to participate in, to stay up-to-date on the latest information in our field and maintain an interactive referral network. So, take a look at our upcoming and past events here. We also welcome any new ideas for possible future events.
Desert CAMFT is a local chapter of the larger state organization, the California Association of Marriage and Family Therapists (CAMFT)*. Like many local chapters, Desert CAMFT was formed to create a more intimate, localized, and accessible community of Marriage and Family Therapists for the purposes of networking, professional development, and career support.
