Glendon Muri Geikie Sr., End of Life Doula

Presentation Description
The presentation will detail how an End of Life Doula works with
individuals, their families and loved ones to transform end of life
experiences and bring dignity and sacredness to the dying process.
 
Goal and Objectives
Learn about the history of our societal attitudes about death and
dying and the work of End of Life Doula’s as they support the
transition from life to death with dignity and sacredness.

Objectives
" 1" Understand the history of death and dying in our society from a
family affair to a process involving funeral homes.
" 2" Describe the work of an End of Life Doula.
" 3" Learn the different ways to increase the quality of life at the end
of life, explore life’s meaning, create meaningful ritual.
" 4" How to reprocess death and process early grief.

Presenter Bio
Glendon Muir Geikie is an End of Life Doula and Social Worker.
Glendon was trained as a clinical social worker at Smith College
School for Social Work. He maintained a private practice in
psychotherapy and mediation for over 40 years in Massachusetts
focusing his work on children, couples, families and trauma
survivors.
